DOI Makes Eligible Public Lands Available for Affordable Housing

Set to develop Las Vegas through a partnership with HUD.

The Departments of the Interior (DOI) and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced an agreement to develop affordable housing around the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The two departments signed a Memorandum of Understanding, agreeing to work together to identify eligible public lands for the further development of housing for the city’s residents.

“Through an all-of-government effort, the Department of the Interior is helping deliver on President Biden’s priorities to lower housing costs and expand housing supply,” said Deputy Secretary of the Interior Tommy Beaudreau. “We are proud to partner with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the state of Nevada, and local governments to make it easier for residents to access affordable housing.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Deputy Secretary Beaudreau as he fills his office in the Interior Department.
  • For Secretary Deb Haaland as her department partners with HUD to develop affordable housing on public lands.
  • For Secretary Marcia Fudge to seek God’s direction as she heads HUD.
